To reduce overall fat content and energy density, this recipe includes an increased proportion of low-calorie vegetables like broccoli, pumpkin, carrot, cucumber, and fennel. The high fibre content contributes to satiety and may help reduce triglyceride levels, while added pineapple provides enzymes believed to aid fat metabolism.
Functional ingredients like artichoke leaves and yarrow are traditionally used to stimulate bile production and improve digestion. L-carnitine is included to promote the efficient use of fatty acids as energy.
