Feeding Guide
To prepare the Slippery Elm Bark Syrup:
- Mix 4g of powder (1 measuring spoon equals 1g) with approximately 250ml of cold water in a stainless steel pot.
- Bring the mixture to a brief boil, then remove from heat.
- Stir continuously until the powder has completely dissolved.
- Allow the syrup to cool before administering.
Dosage:
- Dogs up to 10 kg: 5 ml, twice daily
- Dogs over 10 kg: 10 ml, twice daily
- Cats: 5 ml, twice daily
Administer the syrup ideally 30 minutes before regular feeding. Avoid mixing it directly into food, as the mucilaginous nature of the syrup may interfere with nutrient absorption. If your pet is reluctant to consume the syrup, consider preparing it with homemade chicken broth instead of water to enhance palatability.
